Yoga-Based Eating Disorder Recovery Resources

It is estimated that 8 million individuals in this country have an eating disorder. Eating disorders have both medical and psychological involvement and the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric illness.  In addition:

  • A total of 30 - 50% of individuals with eating disorders abuse alcohol or illicit drugs, compared to 9% of the general population.
  • A significantly high percentage of individuals with eating disorders have one or more co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, personality disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Eating disorders keep the most vibrant and educated individuals from achieving their true potential.  This is not a passing phase that you eventually "grow out of."  It is a deadly disease. if not nipped in the bud, it will fester like an open wound.  Learn more at our non-profit foundation for eating disorder awareness...
